George Sterling Wooldridge, 81, of Rustburg, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the loving husband to Frances Ragland Wooldridge for sixty-three years.
Born September 29, 1936 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Elick Zannie Wooldridge and Nannie Harris Wooldridge and was also preceded in death by a brother David Wooldridge and a sister, Margaret Ann Blazer. Mr. Wooldridge was retired from Lynchburg Foundry with thirty-eight years of service. He was a member of Jordan Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Wooldridge is survived by three daughters, Tina Lloyd and husband Jerry, of Amherst, Rita Campbell and husband Terry, of Lynchburg, Sue Roberson and husband David, of Rustburg; one son, Robert Wooldridge of Concord; three grandchildren, Ragan Campbell, Amanda Campbell, and Daniel Wooldridge and a great grandson, Austin Campbell.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 2, 2018 at Jordan Baptist church with the Rev. Dr. Melvin Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and other times at their residence.
